Helping young people make the right choices. --------------------------- Testimonials Councillor Mark Dowd, Chair of Merseytravel, said: "The Your Choice conference shows young people the consequences of bad behaviour and how it affects people's lives and the work of public and emergency services - and it does it in a new and interesting way. The conference takes a great deal of planning by us and our partners, but that's what makes it one of the best examples of its type anywhere in the country." Bill Morris, Head of Liverpool's Anti-Social Behaviour Unit said: "The aim of this conference is to bring home to young people what can actually constitute anti-social behaviour. The fact that this type of behaviour can take many forms and the effect that this behaviour can have, not only on the community in which they live, but also the environment. The message aims to reinforce to pupils that acts of anti-social behaviour can affect the quality of life not only for themselves but for their families as well. " Station Officer Guy Keen, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "Over a dozen officers from the Community Fire Safety Department of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service participated and the overwhelming consensus was that the events were a resounding success. Deespite years of experience involved in many similiar excellent events, all Fire Officers agreed that these events stood out and raised the standard of multi-agency events in schools." P. Freeman, Headteacher Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School said: "The day was a huge success, excellently well organised and really captured the imagination of the children " "A thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile day " "The
day allows students to engage with all the staff from agencies involved
in making communities a safe place to live" "A thoroughly enjoyable and informative day, which was well organsised" Andrew Houston and Gary Abernethy, First North Western Trains said: "The pupils not only learnt the consequences of the dangers of anti-social behaviour, but enjoyed the day as they were involved from the start." "A
memorable day, that allowed young people to see at first hand what
agencies and staff have to deal with every day"
