Information for Teachers

We decided to use a Mind Friendly Learning approach (often referred to as Brain Based Learning). This takes into account current research into how people learn best and recognises the need to challenge and motivate pupils in a safe and supportive learning environment. Brain research shows that the emotions are central to powerful learning and that they drive our attention, meaning-making and memory.

'Experiences with a high level of emotional resonance are easier to recall than other memories. They remain unusually stable over time. This is because they have a completely different encoding and decoding system. If you want to get something remembered: suffuse it with emotion'
